Pride People: Pam Ann @ Manchester Pride 2011

By Amy Senior & Emma Arnold

A firm favourite at Manchester pride, Pam Ann – the feisty air hostess – flew in to the North West especially to celebrate Pride’s 21st birthday.

Described as ‘cruelly funny’, she combines 1960’s glamour as a ‘trolley dolly’ with camp, brash comedy.

Pam Ann, the alter-ego of Australian comedienne Caroline Reid, gives us her ‘thoughts’ on the festival following her performance on the first night of Manchester Pride 2011.

What does Manchester Pride mean to you?

A bunch of gays on mass in one place all looking for c**k

What were you looking forward to most at Manchester’s 21st Pride Festival?

C**k

What’s your advice to a Pride virgin?

Calm down

Why is it still significant/ so successful?

Because gays love to dress up and party

What are your top 3 Pride festival moments?

NYC Pride – Gay marriage was passed

Sydney Mardi Gras – Nearly got knocked over by the Dykes on Bikes

London Pride – Got double penetrated by 2 bears

If you could tell a teenage you anything what would it be?

One day you will be just like me; a hot mess

What makes you proud?

Being a gay man
