Oldham’s Boundary Park bonfire night event back with a bang after ten-year break

By Matthew Lees

An Oldham bonfire event and fireworks display will return with a bang next week following a decade-long absence.

The event, at Boundary Park on November 5, will feature a bonfire and professional fireworks display along with street entertainers, family games and activities.

Jon Culverhouse, the creative force behind the event, said: “I think it’s the choreography of the fireworks to the music which will most impress the audience

“I always work with the music, not against it, to get the ultimate ‘WOW factor’.”

Councillor Amanda Chadderton, Assistant Cabinet Member, said: “This year has seen some fantastic events which communities have all rallied around and enjoyed including the Olympic Torch parade, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Oldham Beer Festival, the Mela and the People’s Carnival.

Councillor Chadderton added: “I would urge people to get themselves down to Boundary Park on Bonfire Night – and bring your friends and family along too.”
