Teenage girl arrested on suspicion of murdering Rusholme man sectioned under Mental Health Act

A teenage girl arrested on suspicion of murdering a Rusholme man is being sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

The 17-year-old was taken into police custody after the body of Khalid Kassian Hassan, 28, was found at a house on Dickenson Road in the early hours of Friday August 31.

He was found with serious injuries – including a broken leg – and a post-mortem examination found that Mr Hassan died from the fatal wounds.

A section of Dickenson Road, at the junction of Birch Lane and Birch Hall Lane, was closed to the public on Friday investigations were underway.
