Premier League footballer Danny Simpson was left bleeding and unconscious on the pavement following a drunken brawl in Manchester yesterday.

A video has emerged on YouTube of the Newcastle fullback lying face down on the pavement in Manchester city centre – he is bleeding from his mouth as bystanders film and photograph him.

The incident happened at around 4am yesterday morning after he was allegedly punched by two men following a scuffle at a takeaway.

The former Manchester United youth player tweeted: “For the record I’m okay, 2 on 1 well done!”

Simpson, the boyfriend of X Factor judge Tulisa, was drinking with friends at Rice Flame Bar and Grill on Deansgate where he reportedly got into an argument with two bouncers.

As he tried to get into a taxi he was set upon and beaten unconscious.

The Eccles-born 25-year-old is not believed to be pressing charges against his attackers.
