A man arrested after a Bury hit-and-run left a teenager dead is being bailed pending further investigation.
The 32-year-old, from the Radcliffe area, was remanded by officers on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was bailed until December 3.
Callum Hilton, 16, of Middleton, was with three of his friends when a car ploughed into him as he crossed Stand Lane to ask for directions to a house party.
The person driving the vehicle failed to stop as Callum’s friends battled to save his life.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Sunday November 4, a 32-year-old man was arrested in the Radcliffe area of Bury on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
“He has now been bailed until December 3 pending further enquiries.”
Police are continuing to appeal to anyone with information to call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
