Man found with ‘life-threatening’ head injuries in Whitworth Park, Manchester

A man was found with life-threatening head wounds Whitworth Park, Manchester, last night – and police are baffled about how he ended up there.

The man, said to be in his late 30s, is in critical condition in hospital after being found shortly before 8:50pm on Tuesday.

With no witnesses to the incident, police are ‘keeping an open mind’ as to the events that led to the man sustaining his injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Julian Richardson said: “A team of detectives is co-ordinating inquiries at the scene, which is still cordoned off, and we are also trying to trace CCTV from the surrounding area.

“We are, however, keen to hear from any witnesses who were in the area last night and who may have any information which could assist us.”
