CCTV appeal for ‘stun gun’ reveller who electrocuted bouncer after being refused entry to Manchester club

A violent reveller who electrocuted a bouncer in Manchester city centre is wanted and police are appealing for the public’s help to trace him.

The offender was trying to get into the Liars Club on Back Bridge Street at around 12:45am on Tuesday October 2 2012, but he was refused entry and became abusive with door staff.

He argued with the bouncers before struggling with one of them as attempts were made to restrain him, he used a stun gun on the bouncer’s arm.

Detective Sergent Shagufta Khan said: “The consequences of this offence could have been much more severe and this violent man needs to be caught.

“I would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to call us.”

Police have now released a CCTV image of the man who is described as mixed race, about 30 years old, with short dark hair. He is about 5ft 10in tall, of athletic build and was wearing a green jacket.

He left the club in a black Mercedes while the victim recovered from the electric shock.
