By John Paul Shammas

Baby Jesus has been stolen from Manchester Airport’s nativity scene – and now the airport are appealing to have him returned in time for Christmas.

The theft has left the three wise men in danger of having made a wasting journey, so the airport are appealing to the thief’s conscience.

The disappearance was noticed by a member of the public who tweeted about it – which has subsequently gone viral.

Manchester City fan Sarah Greenwood tweeted: “I think someone has stolen Baby Jesus.”

An airport spokesman said: “In the true spirit of Christmas we would like to appeal to whoever is responsible to return the baby Jesus as soon as possible.

“The prank has not gone unnoticed with our passengers either and our terminal managers have been dealing with difficult questions from many young passengers as to why the airport’s nativity crib is incomplete.”

If you have any information about the missing nativity figure, please contact the airport’s contact centre on 08714 777 747.
