A five-car pile-up on the Mancunian Way is causing traffic nightmare for Manchester motorists – who are being warned to avoid the area if possible.
Emergency services were called to the junction between Upper Brook Street and the dual carriageway at around 1pm today.
Five cars, including a Range Rover, were involved in the collision and three people were taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.
One motorist on her way home from work told MM: “Everything was in standstill, cars were not moving while emergency services dealt with the situation and it’s a complete nightmare.
“When the rush hour comes around it could be absolute chaos, thankfully it’s a quieter time of the day.”
Diversions have been put in place for drivers to avoid the junction.
Another motorist tweeted: “The Mancunian Way is like a car park. Stay away!”
