Teenage cyclist fights for life after Moss Side hit-and-run

A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being involved in a hit-and-run collision in Moss Side.

At around 7.35pm yesterday, the teenager was cycling along Princess Road when there was a collision with a BMW.

The cyclist also collided with a lamp post and suffered serious head injuries and a broken pelvis.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, failed to stop at the scene but later handed himself into a police station where he was arrested.  

He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries until July 25.

The teenager is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
