A school girl was sexually assaulted by a man dressed as a woman in Northern Moor yesterday.
The attack happened at 8:45am when the girl, aged 13, was walking along Yew Tree Lane, on her way to school.
As the girl was walking along the road she saw a man dressed as a woman walk directly towards her.
As the man walked past he put his hand up the girl’s skirt, touching her bottom.
The girl screamed and ran across the road where a passerby noticed the girl in distress and walked her home, whilst her attacker walked off in the direction of the Sale Circle shops.
Detective Constable Jane Naylor, based at South Manchester CID, said: “Children should be able to walk to school free of the fear that a complete stranger will touch them so we are determined to find this person.
The girls attacker is described as being a white man, 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a brown bob-style wig, a white ladies jumper with purple on the front, black leggings, a brown belt and black calf length high-heeled riding boots.
The man was also wearing a pair of tan-coloured tights over his head.
Detective Constable Naylor, said: “The description sounds very distinctive so if you saw someone or something that you think might be able to help us find the person responsible, please contact us.”
