Get in the spirit of things: The Liquorists’ acclaimed Vodka trails around Manchester start tonight

By Karen Regn

If you’ve been feeling the chill this week then a vodka trail in some of Manchester’s best bars should warm your bellies.

Taking the pub crawl concept to a higher level, the Liquorists will kick off another tasting extravaganza, a.k.a. the Vodka Trail, tonight.

Running six dates from 20 October to 10 November, the tour follows the success of the Liquorists’ Rum and Whisky Trails earlier this year.

At each bar, guests will receive five taster glasses of specially selected vodka, five bespoke vodka cocktails, food pairings to accompany the vodka samples, and a feast in the final venue.

The Liquorists, who promise “sauce sessions with a difference”, formed in early 2010 and categorise themselves as part drink experts and part tour guides.

Liquorist Director Tom Sneesby said: “We want to educate people about just how good drinks can be and give people a taste experience that they won’t forget in a hurry.

“While it may make you think about what drink you order at the bar in future, our primary aim is to make sure you have fun!”

The trail starts at 6pm at the Blackdog Ballroom, hitting 24 Bar & Grill (formally Obsidian), Epernay, and Hula Bar before arriving at the last bar, Socio Rehab, at 9pm where they will have the final tasting and buffet.

Transport you between the bars is included in the ticket price and, since groups have an upper limit of 15 people, guests are promised a positively civilised experience.

The Vodka Trail will run on October: 20, 26, 27 and November 2, 3, 9, 10. Tickets cost £35.
