Tributes are being paid to a ‘gentle and caring’ man who was found stabbed to death at a home in Oldham on Monday.

Peter Watt, 48, of Moorside, was discovered by emergency services with fatal wounds to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after arrival.

Police were called to an address on Coleridge Road just after 12.15am and three men, aged 32, 39 and 57, and a 29-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder remain in police custody for questioning.

Paying tribute, a close family member said: “Peter was a gentle and caring man and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
