Internationally renowned and Manchester-born DJ Eddie Halliwell is touring new territory this summer after announcing his first residency in Croatia this week.
Club Papaya, on the island of Pag, will welcome Halliwell and others from his ‘Fire It Up’ brand for five nights of trance and hardcore partying beginning early July through to mid-August.
It has often been described as the best open-air club in the Mediterranean, previously playing host to legendary DJs such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyke and Swedish House Mafia.
Halliwell said: “I’m buzzing about this new opportunity. The chance to play weekly in an outdoor arena as the sun comes up, was too good to miss.”
Croatia has become a regular tourist destination in recent years and subsequently carved a reputation as a clubbing and festival hot-spot in Europe.
Since his Radio 1 days, Halliwell has launched his own show, Fire It Up radio, which broadcasts to millions of listeners world-wide.
The DJ says he sees Croatia as the perfect place for his venture to develop while playing to a whole new crowd.
To celebrate his residency, the club is offering week-long festival passes for £50 which includes entrance to three weekly night events as well as the Papaya weekend festival.
Full details to be announced very soon.
