Man dies after jumping in front of moving tram in Manchester – Bury Metrolink line now open

A man who was trapped underneath a tram after jumping in front of the moving Metrolink in Manchester died in hospital today.

The 58-year-old was ploughed into by the moving vehicle at 10.30am this morning near to Radcliffe Metrolink stop on the bury line.

When police arrived at the scene, the male was trapped underneath a carriage and was taken to hospital where he later died of severe injuries.

Investigations are underway but the death is not being treated as suspicions. The line was closed temporarily but has now been reopened.
