BBC staff ran a mile in fancy dress for Sport Relief this afternoon, as Her Majesty the Queen launched the event in Salford’s MediaCityUK.
It was with a wave of a flag that The Queen officially opened the Sport Relief Mile, following her tour of the new BBC buildings.
Hundreds of people attended the event to raise money for Comic Relief, including members of the Mastermind team and Question of Sport staff.
Rebecca Gayle of Mastermind said: “The Queen was up on the plinth smiling away. I really like her; she does a great job for our country.”
