Britain’s Got Talent stars ‘Loveable Rogues’ help Salford KidsCan charity’s world record dance attempt

Salford charity KidScan has confirmed that Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Loveable Rogues, will appear at their world record attempt in July.

The charity is making final preparations for the attempt at the World’s biggest Can Can dance, which takes place at Manchester’s EventCity on July 1.

Also on the bill are local band Phoenix Rocks and up-and-coming five-piece The Majestix.

Loveable Rogues, who recently signed up to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, expressed delight at headlining the event on their Facebook wall.

They said: “We’re so excited to be headlining Can Can 4 KidsCan on Sunday 1st July at Event City, Manchester!”

KidsCan Fundraising Manager Holly Bond said that the band have already been tweeting about the event to their huge number of followers.

“We are delighted that Loveable Rogues will headline the event,” she said.

Mrs Bond said the event is going to be a fantastic family day out with entertainment from five great acts.

“We just want to encourage them all to sign up because we really want to bring this record to Manchester.

“It is going to help children with cancer and it is going to be such a fantastic family day,” she added.

Emma, bassist for up-and-coming five-piece, The Majestix, said: “It’s going to be a great day and it feels such a privilege to be playing for everyone.

“We’ll hopefully make this 10th anniversary one to remember and raise lots of money to help an amazing cause,” she added.

The world record currently stands at 1,503 people, set by Irn Bru in 2008. KidsCan are hoping to smash this by involving 5,000 people.

The concept came about after Edwin Jones, of Salford based advertising agency Hive, met some of KidsCan’s fundraisers at a networking event in 2010.

Hive recently created a promotional video for the event with the aid of Salford City Reds.

Mr Jones said: “”We hope the event is a great success for KidsCan, it’s a really deserving charity.

“We’d encourage everyone to support them by attending this event and we really hope the video we put together for them with Veracity will help their cause.”

The event starts at 12 noon on Sunday July 1. EventCity is located by The Trafford Centre, Manchester.

Tickets are priced at £10 per person. More information on the event can be found at

KidScan continues towards helping children with cancer live a longer life.
