Make the most of it while you can: Manchester sun to make way for rain and cloud, predict Met Office

By Matt Simpson

Make the most of it while you can. That is the message for Manchester residents coming from weather experts at the Met Office as cloud, cooler temperatures and intermittent showers are predicted for later this week.

While remaining hot and sunny today, with temperatures potentially reaching a high of 26°C, the weather in Manchester will begin to change come Wednesday.

Nick Grahame, a forecaster at the Met Office, said: “British summer weather is by its very nature quite variable and this spell of very warm weather is only expected to last a couple of days.”

Due to a weather front moving southwards from Cumbria, the prospect of light showers, cloud and somewhat cooler temperatures have been predicted. Potential highs of 21°C on Wednesday and 18°C on Thursday and Friday show a clear drop from the hot temperatures early in the week.

All is not lost however as there could be some welcome rays of sunshine breaking through the cloud and showers by the weekend with Olympic 2012 football events kicking off here in Manchester and indeed the rest of the country.
