Manchester’s legendary nightclub The Hacienda returns for 30th birthday at original location and Sankeys

Manchester’s legendary club The Hacienda is returning for three one-off events to celebrate the club’s 30th birthday.

There will be three nights of special line-ups to recreate the iconic nightclub with May 21, the original venue’s birth day, hosting a stellar cast that’s being kept under wraps until the night.

The parties are named X1, X2 and X3 and the later two will be held to coincide with the Jubilee weekend on June 2 and 4.

The influential club was converted into a block of residential apartments after its demise in 1997 and the first celebration will be recreated in the building’s underground car park.

The other events will take place in Manchester’s Sankeys nightclub.

Former Hacienda residents Laurent Garnier and Justin Martin are among the line-up for June 2 with Peter Hook, Dave Haslam, Graeme Park and John Da Silva set to return on June 4.

As well as the three events, there will also be a new clothing collection named ‘Label, Location, Legacy’ launched to coincide with the anniversary and a photography exhibition.

All purchasers of Sankeys tickets will be entered into a draw to win tickets for the X1 Haçienda Car Park Special Event.
