Two Bury men clueless to how they woke up in same street 48 hours apart with head injuries – can you help?

By Glen Keogh

Two men found in the same Bury street days apart with head injuries and no recollection of how they suffered them are now appealing for help to solve the mystery.

The pals, 39 and 53, were last seen together buying drinks at lunchtime on Saturday February 16 before getting a taxi back to the older man’s house on Byland Gardens, Radcliffe.

At around 9.45pm on the same day, police found the 39-year-old outside a house in the same street with head injuries.

At around 5.20pm on February 18, police were again called to Byland Gardens after the 53-year-old was found with head injuries in a nearby house.

Both men have no idea how they came to be injured.

Detective Constable Dave Thorpe, of Bury CID, said: “Neither victim can say how they were injured, but we do believe that they were socialising together on the Saturday.

“Did you see or hear anything on Saturday or the subsequent days but maybe not think anything of it at the time?

“Two men have been badly injured and I am confident that someone will be able to tell us what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to called Bury CID on 0161 856 8150 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
