Same-sex wedding fair to be held at Canal Street’s Taurus Bar in March

By Francine Ponticelli

A wedding fair for same-sex couples is to be exhibited on Canal Street next month for those who are considering taking that next step.

For any gay couple that has either just gotten engaged, or who are 90 per cent prepared, but need their plans to be tweaked slightly, Taurus Bar will be the host to the free event. The best hand-picked LGBT Civil Partnership suppliers in the North-West will all be under one roof, which will make it far more relaxing for any couple that are on countdown to their wedding.

It’s a brand new initiative that is ran by The Civil Partnerships @ Canal St. Team, which is set to offer a network of independent professional services that a couple may need for their big day and is preparing to provide quality gay wedding suppliers at an affordable price.

On the day, all the happy couples will be able to meet an array of people within the wedding industry such as a Civil Partnership planner, the photographer, cake-maker, stationery designer, string quartet, the florist and room decorator and tailor.

The pending partners will also have the opportunity to have a viewing of Taurus Bar, which is the only LGBT venue in Manchester that is licensed for Civil Partnership ceremonies. There will also be a few extra demonstrations at the event including a ‘dove release’ that is aimed at those who are looking to make their big day that extra bit special.

Those who are interested can find out more about the various types of Civil Partnership ceremonies available from The Civil Partnerships @ Canal St. Team, which include hand fasting, unity candles, sand blending, a loving cup, the exchange of a rose, jumping the broom and more creative and unique ceremonies to suit individual beliefs and life stories.

The Civil Partnerships @ Canal St. Team event is to take place on Saturday 24 March between 12 and 5pm at Taurus Bar.
