Missing Manchester girl Atiya Wilkinson to be re-united with mother after abduction three years ago

A Manchester-born six-year old girl will be reunited with the mother she has not seen for three years tonight after flying back from Pakistan.

Atiya Wilkinson was taken by her father Razwan Ali Anjum from his former partner Gemma Wilkinson on November 6, 2009, but failed to return her, despite buying a return ticket.

Anjum is currently in prison after refusing to reveal where his daughter was, but she is now expected to arrive in Manchester this evening.

Greater Manchester Police revealed an E-Fit picture which predicted Atiya’s appearance as a six-year-old – released as part of an appeal in November of this year – and eventually helped successfully find her.

Wilkinson, from Ashton-under-Lyne, who had previously accused Anjum of playing ‘mind games’ and called him sick, is not expected to make any comment until she is reunited with her daughter.

Anjum is serving his fourth consecutive prison sentence after a High Court judge jailed him for 12 months for not co-operating with the search for his daughter.
