Timperley residents are being encouraged to source the best British food, plants and produce to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee – and an Altrincham garden centre is offering ideas how.
Altrincham Garden Centre, in Green Lane, is serving a British themed menu until June 26 and a ‘Best of British Big Lunch’ on June 3.
Manager Jamie Smith said: “It shows our commitment in supporting British farmers and producers.
“One thing the royal wedding showed us is that nothing pulls us together as a nation quite like a big royal event.”
They will give advice on making patriotic baskets and are stocking a selection of jubilee giftware from the Emma Bridgewater range.
They are also offering a free celebration newspaper, which include ideas for hosting a party, plus recipes for favourite food such as coronation chicken.
Mr Smith added: “We hope the special commemorative publication will give people food for thought, as well as inspiration for whatever way they choose to celebrate the event.”
Staff will be available throughout next weekend to give tips on how to plant up patriotic baskets, tubs and containers.
There will also be ready made red, white and blue themed hanging baskets available for customers to buy.
