The £10 Challenge – Stockport County charity football match

By Steven Oldham

The Football League season finished last weekend, but for those of you already missing your regular dose of action, and to raise money for charity too, head to Stockport on Sunday May 15.

Stockport County are hosting a charity football match at Cheadle Town’s Park Road stadium, between County Legends and a Fans XI, who will be managed by long time match commentator Jon Keighren.

All money raised will be halved between The Christie and the football club.

The Christie is Europe’s largest cancer centre, treating over 40,000 patients every year.

Some of the County legends involved include Lee Todd, Tony Dinning and Mike Flynn.  Members of the Fans XI gained their place by either donating or raising £100 in sponsorship.

Pure 107.8FM will be in attendance with Pete Liggins taking on the matchday announcing role.  Refreshments will be available at the ground.

Prices are £4 for adults and £2 for kids, meaning at least three of you can get in for a tenner.  Kickoff is 3pm.
