New Year, new bust up: Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini reacts furiously to Balotelli’s rash tackle in training

By Ben Ireland

Furious Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini clashed with troublesome Italian striker Mario Balotelli during training this morning.

Further questions of Balotelli’s future were raised as his manager grappled with him following a mistimed tackle on a teammate, believed to be Scott Sinclair.

It’s not the first controversial training ground escapade the two have had.

Back in September, they were rumoured to have clashed in the tunnel after a late Laurent Koscielny equaliser for Arsenal.

Balotelli has also had run-ins with midfielders Yaya Toure and Nigel De Jong in his time at the Etihad Stadium.

Toure denied the rift, but De Jong has since labelled the volatile both a ‘fool’ and a ‘genius’.

Balotelli has netted just three goals in 18 games for the Blues this season, and a disastrous performance in the Manchester derby was his last run out.
