Manchester United and England legend Sir Bobby Charlton is carrying the London 2012 Olympic flame this Sunday.

The club’s ambassador is one of 14 torchbearers to take the flame during its visit to Greater Manchester this weekend and will kick-off at MediaCityUK.

Sir Bobby will take the torch from Water’s Reach to Old Trafford – where numerous Olympic football matches will be played.

The flame will be on day 37 of its 70-day journey around the UK before arriving at the opening ceremony of the Games on July 27.

Anyone wishing to attend the events across Manchester should arrive in good time to get their free parking and a cheer point.

Full details of the route and schedule can be found on Trafford Council’s website.
