Bolton Wanderers have been granted permission to speak to Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman about their vacant managers position.
The Trotters have been tracking the 38-year-old Scot since Owen Coyle’s departure a fortnight ago.
Palace turned down an approach earlier today but appear to have done a U-turn.
Freedman has just six months left on his contract at Selhurst Park and it is thought that Wanderers are set to offer a £500,000-a-year deal which the Eagles would struggle to match.
A statement on the Palace club website read: ‘Following further discussions throughout the day, Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that permission has been granted for Dougie Freedman to speak to Bolton Wanderers regarding their vacant managerial position.”
