Bebe returns to Manchester United after failing to secure Besiktas transfer

By Dean Wilkins

Manchester United’s Bebe is returning to Old Trafford after failing to impress at Besiktas.

The 21-year-old was on loan at the Turkish side since last summer after making only seven first-team appearances for the Reds.

But the winger, who was a surprise £7.4million signing in August 2010, could not convince the club to complete his transfer to Besiktas as police continue to investigate his move to United.

Bebe’s season began with a cruciate ligament injury which halted his progress and he later fell out-of-favour with coach Tayfur Hayutcu after breaking a curfew before a derby meeting with Galatasaray.

The U-21 Portugal star was famously signed from a homeless football team and has three years left on his contract with United.

But the club are understood to be prepared to sell Bebe if the right amount is offered.
