Manchester City get tough draw against Bayern Munich in Champions League

By Jamie Holt, Sports Correspondent

Manchester City will face four-time winners Bayern Munich in their first ever UEFA Champions League group stage.

The German giants, who recently signed City’s Jerome Boateng, are also joined by Spain’s Villarreal and Italian side Napoli in a tough Group A.

Juan Carlos Garrido’s Villarreal, knocked out by Arsenal at the semi-final stage in 2006, have former Manchester United forward Giuseppe Rossi amongst their ranks and the ‘yellow submarine’ will provide a stern test for Mancini’s men.

The outsiders of the group, Napoli, were one of the teams every club wanted to avoid from Pot D, and with reported Manchester City targets Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edison Cavani and Marek Hamsik in their squad, they will more than fancy their chance.
