The team bringing this film to life are all Manchester based, including writer and director Basit Khan from Bury and producer Jack Clarke from Salford.

Clarke said: “This film isn’t being made for entertainment, it’s a mirror reflecting the pining souls of our communities.

“We’re rewriting damaging narratives and amplifying voices that have long been silenced.”

Starring in this new short film is Bhasker Patel, known for his roles in Emmerdale and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Writer and director Basit Khan draws from his own cultural roots in Kashmiri diaspora.

He said: “The film serves as a love letter to the unsung heroes of our communities.

“It’s for the mothers, sisters, daughters, the dreamers who dared to defy convention.”
