Gig preview: Bastille @ Manchester Academy

By Gemma Lee

Fresh from the success of their sell out tour Bad Blood and critically-acclaimed summer performances at no fewer than 30 festivals, London-based indie rock band Bastille will be back in Manchester this autumn.

The London-based indie rock band behind one of the most successful albums of the year will embark on their biggest tour to date this autumn and are landing in Manchester on October 22.

Drawing on an eclectic range of musical inspirations including Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys and Fugees along with a sprinkling of cinema such as art house and horror films, it seems the indie rock four-piece offers something for everyone.

Since playing their first gig just three years ago Bastille have become synonymous with haunting melodies, strong narratives and a strong rhythmic base which has proved hugely popular with fans.
