The Manchester Pusher: Filmmaker releases documentary on suspected serial killer

A Manchester filmmaker has released a documentary investigating the theory that the city is home to an unidentified and elusive serial killer.

Anthony Mulligan, 34 – who releases documentaries under the pseudonym Daft Monkey – analyses the theory that a serial killer known as The Manchester Pusher may be responsible for many cases of dead bodies pulled from the city’s canals.

More than 80 bodies have been recovered from Manchester’s waterways since 2008.

One in three of these cases returned open verdicts – meaning a cause of death could not be established – and they remain unexplained.

Though officials claim the theory is just a myth, many people including some of the victims’ families believe someone was to blame.
