94th Academy Awards: The Oscars were overshadowed by the shock of actor Will Smith slapping comic Chris Rock after he had made a joke about Will Smith’s wife. The academy later banned him for all Academy events and the Oscar gala for the next ten years.
International women’s day 2022: All around the world the day was dedicated to women empowerment, Manchester city council hosted a walk for women to honour the say and as a stance of women empowerment the length being just over 1k. they hosted a festival for the day with many activities including speeches from influential women from around Manchester.
Manchester Film Festival: A nine-day festival dedicated to the celebration of film which showcased around 150 films, short films and documentaries. The annual event took place at the Odeon cinema and was a popular attraction to anyone with a passion for cinema.
Women’s cricket world cup: March marked the beginning of the women’s cricket world cup for the 12th time with 8 countries participating. The eventwas hosted in new Zealand and ran until 4th April.
