Manchester was brought to a standstill this afternoon as singing Bayern Munich fans marched down Piccadilly high street. More than three hours before kick-off, fans of the reigning European champions belted out club songs while accompanied by a strong police presence. After they passed the offices here outside MM they headed underneath the bridge by Piccadilly Station and on towards the Etihad Stadium where their team face Manchester City tonight.
The match will see manager Manuel Pellegrini seek his first victory over Bayern manager Pep Guardiola with any team he's managed. This fixture has produced drama previously as two seasons ago Carlos Tevez, now at Juventus, refused to play during their 2-0 defeat in Germany.
