Parklife reveller, 26, in critical condition after brutal attack at Manchester festival

A man is fighting for his life after he was viciously attacked at Parklife festival.

Around 9.15pm on Saturday the 26-year-old victim and his girlfriend were dancing in front of the Festival’s main stage when he was attacked by an unknown man.

The victim was given CPR at the scene by two people believed to be off-duty medical personnel after he was knocked out cold.

He was taken to North Manchester General Hospital though has since been transferred to Hope Hospital after his condition had deteriorated.

Detective Inspector Mark Tootill said: “The attack happened in a large crowd at one of the peak times of the festival, so we know there will be some people out there who have witnessed this assault.

“We believe that the victim may have been treated soon after the attack by two off-duty medical staff, who administered CPR before he was taken to the medical tent by security.

“We are extremely keen to speak to those two people, or anyone else who believe they may have seen the attack take place.

“If you believe you have any information that may assist us with our investigation, please contact us as soon as possible.”

The offender is described as a mixed race male, around 25 years old and about 6ft tall.

He has a muscly build and short, curly, black hair which was shaved at the sides.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
