If you’re suffering from a bout of post Valentine’s Day blues, fear not, head down to The University of Manchester’s Love Lounge tonight.
The event, organised by the University’s African Caribbean Society, will include editions of Take Me Out, Blind Date as well as special guest performances.
In addition, the love-fuelled night will be filmed by online broadcast New African TV (NATV) who are striving to build their channel after launching in January.
NATV founder Minsak Nanang, 23, said he is confident the night can be one to remember. He said: “It is sure to be a fun night with a lot happening to keep people entertained.
“We have just begun broadcasting but feel events such as this can help attract our audience; we want to get African culture and lifestyle out to everyone, especially to audiences of our generation.
“We’re different because we don’t have a niche market. Most channels out there target a certain group but we are very broad.”
Mr Nanang believes getting to know the people of Manchester will pay dividends on the quest to reach the global stage.
“We’re still pushing ourselves and getting to know audiences from different cities which is key as we need a solid fan base along with funding to help us actually do what we have planned.
“My goal is for it to be one of the biggest African mediums out there to get people to know a bit more about that way of life.”
Doors at Manchester Club Academy will open at 6.00pm.
