Max Factor: Former talent show contestant mentored by Gary Barlow lands weekly Manchester bar gig

Former X Factor star Max Vickers has secured a weekly spot at a Manchester bar as part of the venue’s acoustic night.

The 22-year-old was given a slot at Piccadilly’s B-Lounge in April but after impressing has been given the opportunity to showcase his talents and bring along his own acts every Thursday.

The Warrington singing sensation, who narrowly missed out on a spot in the last 16 of the ITV show after making it to Gary Barlow’s house in 2011, is relishing the opportunity to engage with Manchester music lovers.

“It’s great to be playing in a city like Manchester and getting more of a feel for the scene,” he said.

“Getting out and playing gigs in Manchester is quite a new experience for me and I’m so happy with the B-Lounge for allowing me and the other acts to do our thing.

“I’m also enjoying introducing talent from around Warrington and other areas and giving them a platform to play their own tunes to a live audience – it’s good experience for the artists and enjoyable for the audience, hopefully!”

Max and his fellow acts will be doing a Bank Holiday weekend all-day special tomorrow at the B Lounge which will run from 12-8pm and insists people will be in for a treat.

He added: “It will be a good time for all. Hopefully if the weather is nice, it’s drinks in the sun and some good live entertainment, you can’t ask for more than that!”
