Cheetham Hill murder suspect arrested after more than 10 years on the run

A Cheetham Hill murder suspect has finally been arrested after more than 10 years on the run. 

Alfred Kurti, 31, has been wanted and subject of a European Arrest Warrant since Bob Singh was viciously beaten by a group of men at a takeaway in the early hours of Saturday April 10 2004.
He was taken to hospital where he died 16 days later, in the early hours of Monday April 26 2004.
Kurti was arrested by Irish Police yesterday and has been remanded into custody by the High Court in Dublin whilst his extradition is sought by officers from GMP’s Cold Case Unit.
On Friday November 11 2005, Marjan Semaj, 31, nicknamed Cimi, from Albania, was sentenced to life imprisonment for Bob’s murder.
On Thursday February 11 2010, Emirjan Hysaj, 39, was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 16 years.
