The annual Universally Manchester Festival returns on June 13 for a day of free family-friendly events.
The festival will have over 80 interactive stalls including talks, hands-on activities and performances on topics ranging from science to art and culture.
It will take place at the University of Manchester’s Oxford Road campus and is free and open to everyone.
The University of Manchester’s Vice Chancellor Professor Duncan Ivison said: “It’s a family-friendly welcome event where you can come and learn something new about the university and about the world.
“Whether it’s science, whether it’s art, whether it’s history, whether it’s something about the university or something about the world that you haven’t heard about before or want to learn about for the future – come along, be curious, join in the fun.”
One of the festival’s standout features is the Bee Curious programme, featuring thought-provoking talks and performances for all ages.
This will include an immersive drumming performance by Afrocats artist Godfrey Pambalipe exploring rhythm and music.
Visitors can also explore the university community allotment, learn about biodiversity and grab a sunflower to take home.
Although all events are free, some of the more popular ones will be ticketed. Tickets can be booked in advance online and there will be a limited number of tickets available on a first come, first served basis on the day.
