Five must-see pantos in and around Manchester this Christmas

Christmas is coming ever closer and with the cold weather outside, families are once again going to the panto to warm up with laughter.

With panto season officially in full swing, families are spoilt for choice, so here are five must see pantos in and around Manchester…

1. Jack and the Beanstalk – Opera House Manchester (Sat 2 Dec – Sun 31 Dec)

Comedy superstar Jason Manford returns to the Manchester panto scene as Jack. He is joined by Manchester panto favourite Ben Nickless, star of stage and screen Myra DuBois, and West-End performers Samara Casteallo and Emma Williams.

2. Cinderella – Contact Theatre, Manchester (Sat 9 Dec – Sun 31 Dec)

Presented by eight-freestyle and Contact Young Company, this production puts a girl-power twist on the classic princess fairy-tale.

3. Aladdin – Salford Arts Theatre (Sat 2 Dec – Sun 31 Dec)

The traditional show, by Harry Luty, follows the tale of Aladdin and his magical lamp. Dozens of shows have already sold out, with limited availability for the remaining shows.

4. Peter Pan – The Plaza, Stockport (Fri 8 Dec – Sun 7 Jan)

Coronation Street’s Brian Capron features as Captain Hook with Scott Gallagher as his right-hand-man Mr. Smee in this classic tale of the never-aging boy.

5. The Snow Queen – Waterside Arts Centre, Sale (Wed 29 Nov – Sat 30 Dec)

This production of The Snow Queen puts a modern, climate conscious twist on the ice original tale.
