Fed up with her corporate jobs, a Greater Manchester woman began learning the guitar during lockdown – and has now scored a number one hit.
Bek Jones, from Hindley Green in Wigan, is “buzzing” after her second single, No Dancin’ Anymore, topped the iTunes rock charts.
She said: ”I am so happy with the song’s success but it was also a big relief that people enjoyed it so much as well.”
The 29-year-old previously worked in management for Tesco and in HR for BAE before taking the plunge to pursue her dream of a career in music.
When speaking about her transition, she said: “I just had this feeling of not being fulfilled because I always, deep down, wanted to do something with music.
“Even when I was a kid I wanted to be a singer and was putting little songs together in my head.”
The mum-of-two explained how life had distracted her and taken over her dream of being a musician for a long time.
This was until her family and friends had encouraged her to “just go for it and see how it goes”.

When writing her latest hit No Dancin’ Anymore, Bek said the inspiration came from the famous Wigan Casino, an iconic venue for Northern Soul between 1973 and ’81.
She said: “I initially had the riff for a while, but after speaking to my sister who loves the history behind the Wigan Casino, it gave me the idea for the song to be a celebration of it and what it means for the people of Wigan.
“Ironically it is also the 50th anniversary of the Wigan Casino this year – which I didn’t even realise until recently… but that really made it feel like it was meant to be.”

Bek now plans to celebrate her great success with her family and friends on a well deserved holiday where she will also be turning 30.
You can listen to Bek’s hit now on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
