Meet the Rock Choir making a difference in North Wales

The popularity of Rock Choir, which describes itself as the UK’s leading contemporary choir, is soaring – including in North Wales.

There are now over 33,000 Rock Choir members across the UK. It is about bringing together local communities, making new friends and finding some time for yourself in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

The Rock Choir in Mold rehearses locally and accepts all those who wish to join, regardless of musical background.

The Rock Choir in Mold rehearse every week and have three 10-week terms throughout the year.

Sheryl, a Rock Choir member, said: “I’ve had lupus for over 16 years. I get to forget that once a week and I feel like I’ve achieved something in life now, as I’ve had to give everything else up because of it.”

The choir is led by talented singer and pianist Rebecca Broadbere, who guides members through unique arrangements of pop and rock hits. As well as Mold, Rebecca runs the rock choirs in Colwyn Bay, Liverpool, West Kirby, Wrexham, and the Wirral.

She said: “Rock Choir gave me the chance to combine by passion, career and friendship all in one place, something I didn’t always realise was possible until I started this job!

“My members quite often tell me how much their weekly rehearsals and seeing everyone gives them their ‘boost’ for the week, but they do exactly the same for me.”

A free taster session is available before you join.
