GIVEAWAY: Win two tickets to meat-lovers’ paradise Manchester Grillstock Festival and plenty of BBQ booty

With barbecue season moving firmly into view, Manchester is set to go grill-crazy.

UPDATE: The competition has now closed. Thanks to all those who entered.

To celebrate, MM are offering two lucky food lovers a pair of tickets to Grillstock, Manchester’s number one summer food festival, taking place June 28-29. The lucky winners also bag some BBQ treats to take home too (see below).

To enter couldn’t be easier, just ensure you are following @mm_newsonline on Twitter and email us your Twitter handle at newsdesk (at) mancunianmatters (dot) co (dot) uk .

Grillstock will be a weekend of meat, music and mayhem and plays host to The King of the Grill, the UK’s biggest BBQ competition, where teams from across the world will light the coals and try to cook the ultimate grill cooked grub.

There are four key rounds of chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork that all teams must cook.

The team with the most points across these four rounds will be crowned Grand Champion.

The winners will bag £1,000 in cash and qualify to compete against the best of the best at the prestigious American Royal World Series of BBQ Invitational in Kansas City later this year.

The ‘steaks’ are high and entries have to win over the tastebuds of influential faces and experienced international BBQ judges to set the competition alight.

If that wasn’t tasty enough, winners will also receive a BBQ bounty of delicious treats from Lazy Jack’s ambassador DJ BBQ, and will take home his infamous Rad rub and his mouth-watering Awesomeness rub. They’ll also get a Foodtube book and a DJ BBQ hat.

Lazy Jack’s cider, inspired by the long summer days in Mississippi, will be the perfect accompaniment to wash down meaty mouthfuls and the makers of the American style cloudy cider will be stumping up £250 for the winner of the pulled pork contest.

It’s not all about the food though – the music stage has been lovingly curated by one of the small teams that programme Glastonbury’s main stage

The line-up reflects a deep affection for American roots music with 40 bands and 8 DJ’s playing Americana rock, funk, blues and country sounds.

To bag a weekend of delectable delights and win tickets for the event, the rub, the foodtube book, and the hat follow @mm_newsonline on Twitter and email us your Twitter handle to newsdesk (at) mancunianmatters.co.uk.
