Pro-Palestinian protestors gathered on Albert Square

A group of protesters came together in Manchester city centre today to voice their thoughts on the conflict in Gaza.

They stood in front of the William Ewart Gladstone statue in Albert Square chanting: “Ceasefire now.”

This sentiment could also be seen written on posters taped to the fencing around the monument.

Protesters were holding up signs which showed their support for Palestine and their disgust with the bombings of Gaza by Israeli forces.

One sign (shown above) read: “UN says one child dies every 10 minutes in Gaza. Stop the bombs now.”

This protest reflects the sentiment of many others around the UK, with pro-Palestinian demonstrations happening all over the country.

Some passers-by did not seem to agree with the protest – with one shouting: “Just go home” at the protectors.
