Football legend Gary Neville has worked with Manchester City Council to develop a new office space housing the likes of Channel 4 and S&P Global Inc.
Opened on Thursday, the project – a joint effort by Neville’s firm Relentless Development and KKR – follows a three-year construction process and marks the first completed phase of the St Michales project which has been 15 years in the making.
This flagship development is part of an effort to support 6,000 new construction and operation jobs as part of the St Micheals development plan which is expected to bring in £300m of benefit to public sector finances.
“Officially opening this building marks an exciting new chapter for a landmark development that has been 15 years in the making,” Neville said.
“It’s amazing to see the building in full operation and alive with our tenants and I’d like to thank them for trusting us to create a new benchmark for quality and experience here in Manchester.”

With the entire £400m regeneration project aiming to be a fully Net Zero development, the preparation to launch No.2 St Michaels is currently underway. It will be housing the new 162-room W Hotel and 217 W Residences.
Leader of Manchester City Council Bev Craig said: “Every year, Manchester is attracting more global organisations, and we know that the city needs this type of high-quality accommodation to satisfy demonstrable demand.
“It’s major programmes of redevelopment like this that maintains key investor confidence in Manchester as a great place to do business.”
