Two cannabis farms unearthed in Great Lever mill – GMP make four arrests

Four people have been arrested after GMP discovered two cannabis farms at a mill in Great Lever.

Officers were alerted to the first cannabis farm at a large mill on Lever Street, where they found around 1,000 cannabis plants in various stages of growth, along with a large quantity of cannabis that had been harvested and made ready for sale.

Three men, aged 29, 48 and 58, and a 47-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of production of cannabis.

A further search of the area led officers to discover a second cannabis farm in a nearby building containing approximately 500 cannabis plants.

Detective Sergeant Martin Ashurst based at Scholey Street police station said: “We are currently working to remove these two large scale cannabis farms from the building and have four people in custody that we will be questioning about this discovery.

“Tackling the production, sale and supply of drugs on our streets remains an important issue for us in Bolton, as we know that drug-related activity is a blight on our communities and is something we will simply not tolerate.
