Coronation Street super-fans will soon be saying ‘ey up Chuck’ as they get the chance to strut their stuff down the famous cobbles dressed in the shows most iconic clothing.
Whether sporting Bet Lynch’s leopard print coat, Hilda Ogdon’s pinned curls or Deirdre Barlow’s jam jar glasses there will be something for everyone.
The once in a life-time opportunity comes as Coronation Street the Tour and Manchester Pride have team up ahead of this year’s Big Weekend.
The partnership will see a string of special tours, at the legendary Quay Street set, ahead of this year’s annual LGBT event.
Fans will have the chance to imitate their favourite characters and pose for a photograph behind the bar of Whetherfield’s favorite boozer, The Rovers Return, from August 18-22.
The Tour’s General Manager Andy Begg said: “Manchester Pride is an important event in the city and we wanted to join in the celebrations.
“Encouraging our guests to dress up as iconic characters is a fun way to do this and we really look forward to seeing everyone take part.”
Following Coronation Street’s big move to MediaCityUK last December, the tour of the Quay Street studios was announced in March and has received an incredible reception from soap lovers around the world.
Mr Begg added: “People have travelled from as far as Canada and New Zealand which goes to show what a strong following Corrie has with the public.
“Most pleasing of all is that everyone coming on the tour is really enjoying their time with us, from visiting the dressing rooms to exploring the dark secrets of the ‘Ginnel’.
“I love seeing the visitors’ faces as they step out onto the street for the first time to the ‘daaaaah dah dah dah daah daah’ theme tune.”
The tour is due to run until October 4 and fans are free to spend as long as they would like exploring the street upon stepping out onto the cobbles.
