Manchester deserted during the Queen’s funeral

Manchester was a ghost town today as the nation watched live screenings of the Queen’s funeral.

The usually-busy streets and shopping areas were largely empty, and many of those who did venture out were watching the service on large screens at Cathedral Gardens, Exchange Square and Manchester Cathedral.

But Piccadilly Train Station was still busy with commuters while the service was ongoing.
