WATCH: More than 1,000 protesters gather in St Peter’s Square for #KillTheBill protests

Thousands of Mancunians came together to join in with the nationwide #KillTheBill protests and to mourn the tragic death of Sarah Everard.

The protests which took place across the country over the weekend have been sparked by a potential new legislation which – if enforced – could mean that permission for protests would need to be granted in advance and participants would risk £2,500 fines if they organise without prior permission.

Many protesters also came out to mourn the death of Sarah Everard, who was murdered earlier this month, laying flowers at the Emmeline Pankhurst statue in her memory.
