Northern people the most dissatisfied with PM and most likely to vote Reform UK says new poll

People in the north of England are the most dissatisfied with Sir Keir Starmer with 77 percent feeling this way and data shows support for Reform, but not so, for the Green Party.

The Prime Minister and Labour are losing support as its found just 17 percent of people in the region gave Sir Keir a ‘satisfied’ rating. He’s the least popular here in the north and most so in the south, excluding London, and Greater London, where he is approaching 12 months in his role.

For each of the main political party leaders Ipsos asked if people are satisfied or dissatisfied with their leadership. The north excluding Scotland votes can be seen on the table below.

The survey also showed that, nationally, only a third of (32%) of last years Labour voters are satisfied with the government.

The newly relaunched Political Monitor, by Ipsos, shows if there were to be a general election tomorrow, 37 percent of the north excluding Scotland ONS area are going for Reform UK. And, it’s the most popular choice in the region.

The data also shows that, as a region, we are the least likely to vote Green, at just 6%, and are the most undecided area on which party to vote for.

Claire, a nurse from Salford, was disappointed and said: “I always vote for Green. I like to give party support nationally too even with a small chance in Salford.

“Usually everyone goes Labour anyway.”

But next time she could be wrong.

Researchers have found Reform UK holds a lead of + 9 points over Labour and Labour’s vote share of 25% is the lowest Ipsos has recorded since October 2019.

It also found that Reform is currently holding on to nearly all of their 2024 voters (95%).

In charge of the study, Gideon Skinner, senior director of UK politics at Ipsos, said: “The last year has indeed been a long time in politics, with our first voting intention since the election showing just how much the political landscape has transformed since then.”
